Illumination at The Morton Arboretum

Illumination: Tree Lights at The Morton Arboretum

During the holiday season, I try to get our family out and about as much as possible! I love walking through the decorated stores, shopping for presents, and looking at all of the decked out holiday trees.

This year, we visited Illumination at The Morton Arboretum. It was like walking through an enchanted forest, where the lights and the music are coordinated together on the beautiful crisp winter evenings. With the long winter nights, it was really special to visit the arboretum watching the lights twinkle and glow.

Here are a few things to know before you go:

-Buy tickets in advance (there is a reduced rate during the weeknights)

-Illumination typically happens Nov. 17-Jan. 1

-Doors open at 4:30PM and the last entry is at 8:30PM, lights go out at 9:30PM (time of entry will depend on what time you purchase your ticket for)

-Check the weather temperature before you go (if it’s really chilly, you may want to bring a down blanket to drape over your coat)

-Bring a camera, the trees are simply stunning!

Special thank you to The Morton Arboretum for inviting us as their guests.
